This month, The Enchanted Book Club is in full bloom as we celebrate the beauty of gardens. We’re thrilled to unveil our long-awaited Literary Gardens of England itinerary, and together we’ll read The Kew Gardens Girls by Posy Lovell. We’ll also be joined by Molly Williams, author of Jane Austen’s Garden, for a charming conversation about the gardens that inspired Jane herself. Explore the botanical inspirations and floral symbolism woven throughout Jane Austen’s writing with Molly Williams, author of Jane Austen’s Garden. From the mulberry trees of Sense and Sensibility to the hyacinths blooming in Northanger Abbey, Molly guides us through the gardens that inspired Jane’s imagination and continue to enchant readers today.

Meet Posy Lovell, the author of our May 2025 reading selection, The Kew Gardens Girls. Set during World War I, the novel tells the story of women who stepped into roles as gardeners at London’s Kew Gardens, taking on the jobs of men who had gone to fight. In this conversation, Posy shares the real-life events and historical figures that inspired her novel, her process for writing strong heroines, and discusses the language of flowers.
