GET LOST IN THE MAGIC OF STORIES
The Enchanted Book Club honors literature’s beloved heroines and the authors who created them. Our monthly readings feature an inspiring collection of classics, fiction, and occasional non-fiction. For contemporary selections, book club members are invited to virtually meet with the author over a cup of tea for a heartfelt discussion. EXCELLENT WOMEN BY BARBARA PYM
“There are so many kinds of excellent women—self-sacrificing, helpful, devout, modest—and yet all excellent in their own way.”
Excellent Women by Barbara Pym is a charming and insightful tale set in 1950s London, following Mildred Lathbury, a single woman navigating societal expectations with wit and quiet strength. Often compared to Jane Austen for her sharp social observations, Pym masterfully captures the beauty and complexity of ordinary life.
